On July 2nd, I took my last CPA exam, and now I can finally celebrate the completion of this six-month long torture adventure. We were going to be responsible with my bonus, but then Cale suggested that I reward myself. So I did. I bought my very own Digital Rebel Xsi. I am using the kit lens, and I just ordered the “nifty fifty” lens to complement it. In the end, we are being about half responsible. And in life, isn’t that the best way to be? Responsible enough, but still allowing yourself some fun. I have definitely been having fun with my new camera. This past Thursday night I was the amateur photographer for my company’s softball game, and the pictures were distributed to our whole San Jose tax department. It was a ton of fun, and a great way for me to get to know my camera.
I am looking forward to learning more about photography and to capturing life’s moments in higher quality. I can definitely say that photography is my hobby now. How awesome is that? I have a hobby that does not consist of painting my toenails because that was about the only other thing I used to be able to think of that I could describe as a hobby. So now how about a bombardment of the past few days’ pictures? Yes?

A small sample of what is to come. But I better head to bed. I have to wake up early because the hubby and I are making a day trip to Fresno in the morning. I may be having tea with these lovely ladies. So I’m pretty darn excited. Bakersfield folks, don’t get your panties in a bunch; we will be coming to visit soon. Another weekend very soon. We’re just looking forward to being able to visit Fresno without the dogs in tow. I am super excited to spend some time with my good friend and new friends! I hope you all have exciting Labor Day weekends planned.

Thanks.. the funny thing is those are my husband’s jeans.. I’ve been trying to steal them lately because I tried them on once and loved them. While I was taking this picture, all I could hear was “Take those off. They’re not yours!!!”

How are you liking the “nifty fifty”? I am still using my kit lens and am getting antsy to buy that one, too. Maybe with some of my etsy money, that way I don’t feel guilty…

Congrats again on passing your mondo crazy test! For sure you totally deserved your new camera! You totally kicked butt on that test and you put so much into studying! Of course you had to buy something fun with your awesome bonus! You can’t be logical all the time. Yay for your new camera! And after seeing it in person I can attest that it is very fancy-pants and very cool! Lovin all the shots you’ve taken so far! Can’t wait to see more of your handywork! Yeah for the new camera, its amazing!!! I love the pictures. I especially love the one of Masie, super cute and the look of it is amazing. Can’t wait to see more pictures. I just purchased the 50mm f/1.4 and am itching to get it.
