While watching hours and hours of home movies, I saw something that caught my eye. Something that I couldn’t shake. (and no it’s not that kind of bangin’)
4 year old Stephanie from Steph Corwin on Vimeo.
And yes I still have those awesome dance moves.
And yes I’m still that adorable but you know what? I think I want bangs.. Yes I really am looking at me as a kid and actually thinking of copying that hair as an adult. But seriously. My hair has been long and the same forever. I recently got it trimmed and when my stylist asked if I wanted bangs I just said “Ummm,” which she took as a no and moved on.
But now… I think I want some. I’ve been taunting Cale about bangs all day, which he thinks would be the end of the world. He said I would look like I was trying to hard to look young, but really.. I think I could use the little boost. I rarely get carded, which is pathetic given that I’m only 24. Bangs could help cover up my horrendous forehead wrinkles so that maybe one day Botox will not be on my wishlist anymore.
I took to the internet for one of those instant makeover sites where you upload a picture of yourself to see what you would look like with different hairstyles, and oh my goodness. Well I can tell you I would not look good in bright orange hair. Seriously, how do they expect those sites to produce any sort of realistic predictors? So then I though who has adorable bangs that I could photoshop my face onto? (What you didn’t automatically think of that too?) Kyla Bea! She has great hair!
The result:
Then I did what any logical person would do, I pinned up my hair for the evening. Half to torture my husband and half to see if I actually looked okay. I really like it. Cale hates it. But I’ve never been one to listen to my husband until afterward when he says I told you so. So you people. Blog readers. What do you think? Do you have bangs? Do you like them, love them, want to kill them? How often do you have to get them trimmed? Do I look as Cale so lovingly puts it “Like one of those people who is trying to look cool?”

Bahahaha. I loved baby Cait in the background too…LOL!!!!
bangsbangsnbagngnganganganbangsBANGS! Boo CALE! Chris said no to my bangs too, but I LOVE THEM! (Pretty sure he likes them now) Shexy!!!
awww i am so cute!!! i steal the show fo sho!
just kidding.
i liked “stephanie rae ann williams a thee winna girl”
as if you really thought it was really part of your name.
we’re you disappointed when you found out it wasn’t?
and “bob dad harold williams”
yep.
and yes get bangs. it would be really cute.
i would do it. if only i didn’t have my stupid cowlick
Haha, this is funny! I encountered this dilemma several months ago and then spontaneously let my stylist do the chop. They were … okay. I got lots of compliments but in the end, I regret them. My hair is really fine and they were pretty hard to manage. That perfect slight curl was so hard to achieve! And the growing-out period (aka now) is the worst. I think all the hair/face powers have to be in your favor in order for them to work. The hair/face gods obviously love cutie kyla bea.
Oooh you look so pretty in the picture you superimposed on Kyla Bea’s hair! Your eyes really do POP! So beautiful! I like the idea of bangs on you … but I think I would maybe go for the side bangs. Maybe I’m biased since I love my side bangs, but I also like how you look in your daily me Dec. 28 — http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephcorwin/3145584695/in/set-72157607332705569/ — in this picture it looks like you have really long side bangs and it’s really working for you! mama likey! Good luck! Can’t wait to see what you do! I say, go for it cuz hair will grow back!
i think you’d like great with bangs!!!! and that lil stephanie is soo cute…
I love how you look exactly the same! Definitely get bangs–I wish I could, but my hair tends to curl the shorter it gets. Are you thinking shorter bangs or those longer side swept ones? You’ll always be curious until you just do it.
LOL WOW! This was definitely an interesting way to wake up!
You would look good with them, I just can’t get over the picture = D
I think you could easily pull off bangs..and if you don’t like them..you could just pin them back and they’ll grow out!
I love my bangs. You will love yours too. DO IT!
PS: Great dance moves. You’re a superstar.
That was a pretty sweet dance you did there. LOL. I had bangs not too long ago and I loved them. They were a little high maintenance. I had to get them trimmed every 3 or 4 weeks. I’m currently growing them out and that’s a pain. I think you should do it, you look good in Kyla’s hair. hehe
HAHA! Those dance moves are stellar!
I say go for the bangs! Call Cale’s bluff on the whole “threatening divorce if you cut bangs” issue.
I go back and forth all the time. I have them for a while… grow them out… cut them… grow them out. Its a fun little game I play with my hair. I love them on me because 1) I have a huge forehead… and 2) I have wrinkles that I hate! Soooo bangs are way less than botox. CUT SOME! Just not yourself! I trim my own, but never do the initial cut on my own.
I got fringe bangs a couple of months ago and honestly, I hated them! Jon laughed at me as soon as I walked in the door and told me I looked like a 12 year old. I’m trying to grow mine out now and it’s such a pain! I do think you look very cute with bangs in your photoshopped photo, though!
Oh, I’m liking the bangs on you. I had bangs for a very long LONG time. But mine were SO 90′s style and I look back at all my photos and I HATE those darn bangs. I think that bangs today are so much cuter. Someday I might brave them. lol
Freaking Kyla Bea and her amazing hair. I have some serious bang envy when it comes to that girl. It’s an issue.
(How the heckers did you photoshop your face like that, anyway? Crazy! I’m seriously impressed.)
I’ve been dealing with the bang thing for a while, too – but in the end, I think I’ve realized that with my hair texture (randomly wavy/curly/yuck) it would be no good. I would end up bawling my head off when I couldn’t get them to look right, or something.
If you think it would work with your hair texture (perhaps ask and honest opinion of your stylist) then I say go for it! Your dark hair and light eyes are absolutely stunning, and when you add bangs into the mix it’s absolutely lovely.
I love my bangs. Haven’t had to get them trimmed since the initial haircut. Which I probably won’t even do anyway since they are more side-swiped bangs and can work a little longer until I get my hair cut again.
I got bangs about a year and a half ago and I really liked the change. They were very easy to style and control, and when I was done with them they weren’t hard to grow out. I think this is probably because they weren’t super short or drastic, they sort of faded into face-framing layers.
I like the photo-shopping! You’d look great with bangs! I think we can all relate to getting bored with our look. You only live once, and if you don’t try it you might always wonder
I have bangs now unlike my many years of practically one length all over hair. I just figured, why not? I mean, I am pretty sensitive about my hair, but in the end it’s just hair and I don’t want to look back and realize that I had the same haircut my whole life. I say go for it. If you don’t like them, you can always pin them up while they grow back out. But change is good – it keeps you livin’!
Cait,
Oh I know and I love when you start crying like halfway through.. and then just stop. I bet my dancing soothes you
Bangs! I swore I’d never have bangs again after the painful growing out process in junior high. But I went for the bangs again this year, and I have to say, I like them. I’m keeping them. Do it.
I loved “bob dad harold williams” too! That was adorable!!! The whole video was adorable, but I especially loved your dance…and they way you intro’d it! HAHA!
I considered bangs a while back too. I have yet to become brave enough. But I bet they’d look really cute on you…give ‘em a shot!
