Ashley.Star over at Our Little Apartment created a challenge for February: to Spread the Love and purchase handmade from Etsy.
I love etsy. Love love love love love. I’m not very crafty, so I love that I can support people who are. It’s a win win win. They get to make things that they enjoy. I get to buy it and enjoy it. And it breaks me from my sick addiction to Target.

Purchased a while back, but I still love it. A checkbook cover. Since I rarely use my checkbook, but feel paranoid if I don’t have it, I wanted something that could allow me to carry my checkbook without causing me to have big fat wallet syndrome. From HipHandbags

Oh and don’t worry, there are even things for the husband, like a nerdy philosopher t-shirt.
Lastly, it wouldn’t be right if there weren’t items sitting in my favorites waiting for me to have a bad day when I can order an adorable necklace to cheer me up.
Seriously I think I need an intervention.

Check book cover! I never would have thought of one of those. I hate having big fat wallet syndrome. I always have to be the one to carry the check book, Stephen refuses. He says I have to because I “have a big purse and what’s one more item.” But sometimes I would just like to have a tiny wallet with essentials. No giant checkbook! I am so making one.
OK and I love your guitar strap. One day I’ll get back on the learning guitar horse. I know like three chords and two songs, but it hurts my fingers so I stopped at that over five years ago. Also Stephen refused to teach me anymore once we started dating because he felt awkward about it.

Great finds! I used Esty for most of my holiday shopping this past year. I think it’s so fun to be able to find things that you can pretty much guarantee that no one else will have.

I love Etsy. You have got some great finds! I bought a kickin camera strap awhile ago. I always spend hours browsing and then get too overwhelmed or can’t make a decision. I don’t buy near as much as I would like too.

the checkbook cover is so chic! i’ve only used my checkbook about 3 times but if i had that cover i probably would use it more often
i’m an etsy junkie, i’m surprised there isn’t a support group yet.
Wish I had bought stuff from etsy, I have TOTALLY cut back on my shopping “problem” before I was introduced to this site. I LOVE LOOKING THOUGH! What sucks is that I am totally crafty I just have ADD and can’t make more than one thing. LOL!
