I have a tendency to get overwhelmed. Can you tell.. you know since I’ve been MIA for about a week? I mean just the task of blogging is too much for me. And working out is just plain daunting. Yet I continue to beat myself to death and put far too many things on my plate. So when I can’t accomplish everything I am angry at myself and end up doing nothing I set out to do. Why? I think it’s because I also have a tendency to just give up. I feel overwhelmed, and in my own way of fighting back, I do absolutely nothing. I evolve into the laziest person alive because I either work too much, need time to myself, or insert any other irrational reason here.
Then I saw this 101 in 1,001 days list floating around different blogs. The list began with an idea at Day Zero, followed by your wishcake, Cusp of Normal, Sara McGinness, Love, Shannon, and Ashley.Star. Yes it took all these people making lists before I finally decided to join in. I really sat on it for a while, cautioning myself against a new list to obsess over. I didn’t want another thing around to pressure me when really sometimes all I feel like doing is nothing.
Then I realized, this could actually be just the motivation I needed. A point in the right direction. By taking the time and thinking carefully about the things I wanted to accomplish, the way I wanted my life to be, I could use this list to boost me out of my laziness and channel my energy into the things that were important to me. This wouldn’t be a chore, but a choice. I specifically chose items that were tangible, ones that I could achieve. So you’ll see a lot of doing such-and-such for thirty days, ten times, etc. I’m relying on the idea that if you do something for thirty days it can really make an impact on your life. So we’ll see. Otherwise these next 1,001 days are just going to end up being expensive.

95. Makes me LAUGH..lol…that’s totally how we “roll”
I think it’s great that you made this list…..omg, you make me want to do it..really, really. To much presure though..well, maybe not..
i’ve been wanting to get the intellectual devotional for SO LONG. i have to empty my shelves first though. and, i love veganomicon.
Thanks for the link, now we are list buddies and can motivate each other. I am quite impressed at the separate categories, it makes a lot more sense than my haphazzard 101 lists. eh, it is what it is. Good Luck!!!
#88–while you’re at it, buy me a pair
#100–i want to do for my 21st!
Now I have one more bullet to add to my to-do list: make a 101 in 1,001 list. I like how you broke it up for different parts of your life.
I could definitely use some help in “the healthy Trysha” portion. I think that would be the hardest one for me. I heard somewhere that walking/running is supposed to be enjoyable…is that true?? I think I’ve been lied to.
That’s an amazing list Steph! I love the way you split them all up into categories. Perfect combination of the different areas of your life.
I also love the idea of printing all of the photos-a-day for a year. What a great thing to have… Also like the Christian Louboutins one
We should all indulge once in a while.
Good luck with your list! Can’t wait to hear how it goes.
YAY!
I love your list.
I love categories – seriously, it’s like a list within a list. My heart soars!
It’s been fun thinking about the things on my list and working towards them bit by bit.
I LOL’d when I saw #87. Really!? Ouch!!
Sounds like a fantastic place to start! My goodness!
I love your categories too, I might have to do one of these.
No Target for a month!…..sweetheart don’t be so hard on yourself. I’m worried…..
LOL!!! i totally laughed when i saw GET BOTOX on your list b/c i kid you not…it’s on my list too!! ahhh, i love it. dude, but seriously!
I really do want to finish my 101 things but then i feel like there is so much pressure…i have to witty, inspiring, logical, thrifty, and it goes on and on and THEN, what if i never finish?! *gasp* I really love all your mini lists within the list tho, that mustve made it much easier to swallow when building it!
I love it. and you were totally inspiring btw
WOW, this was really well thought out and organized. I love some of the things you said you would do for Cale (I might have to copy, actually, shhh). And seriously, do the traveling!
P.S. if there’s one person I know will complete all 101 things, it’s you. Can’t wait to hear about them!
That’s awsome – I love the way you organized it all. Altho, my favorite category has gotta be “Vain Steph”, cos I’m a bit of a girlie girl!
Jimaie,
Oh I’m glad someone else understands my obsession with botox. I have wanted to get it ever since I was eighteen (not even kidding). Now that it’s on my list, I can’t NOT have it done, right?
And yes the mini-lists saved my life. haha. I was like hmmm what kind of person do I want to be? And how do I get there? It made making the list so much easier.
Your list is the best! Much of it could easily be applied to me, hmm maybe I should make a list…
Oh wow this is an awesome list. I wish I could actually finish mine (picking things to put in it I mean). Once I do I will totally post it. Good luck with all of these, they will be so much fun to check off when you complete them.
Great list! You have some awesome ideas on there and the way you organized it makes it much more manageable. Good luck!!
this sounds BAD but i don’t think i could go without a week without turning the TV on!! Yikes.. lol
If you could Please stop by my blog – hopefully spreading the word will help!!!
I am making one now. It will take awhile but i will let you know when its posted!
What a fabulous list! Definitely do the vegan thing–we did for about a month, and I felt sooo good, but then cheese and milk chocolate kept taunting me, so we compromised and now we’re completely vegetarian and *mostly* vegan.
Does going to target.com count as stepping foot in Target?
You know what the coolest thing about this is? Now your friends and family know what is important to you and can help you get there. I think we are going wine tasting on Thursday, right?
This is a fabulous list! It’s so great to have goals and aspirations. I have a list of sorts, myself, but it’s nothing like this. I love how you organized it and made it into mini-lists. Seriously, the anal organized list-loving part of me is so happy at this post.
I can’t wait to hear about it all as you get to cross things off!
I am soooo impressed with your list! Seriously. You rock! I love all the different categories you made! I’m sure Cale is excited for you to cross off the wifey goals! You’re so sweet/thoughtful. I’ve said this before on other blogger’s post like these – these lists totally intimidate me! Do you want to make me a list? Ha! first I ask you to clean and now to make a list! Man, i’m so needy!
i posted my list..
