You all will be so proud of me. I held up my end of the bargain. I totally worked out the past three days. And the working out for today is imminent. I’m so glad we have a solid group of folks who are up for this challenge! Yay for everyone!
- Tuesday: The Shred. I started up again at level one. I work out with five pound weights. I don’t have any problems with it until the anterior raises with the side lunge. That is when my five pound weights suddenly feel like fifty. I’m interested to see if this is much easier by the end of level 1
- Wednesday: The Shred again. I didn’t get to this until about 10:30pm. I really want to start waking up early to get it over with before work, but my body is disagreeing with my head and would like to sleep in. We’ll see if I can start this up next week.
- Thursday: The Shred (noticing a pattern?). I could tell a difference in my endurance. It was much easier. I’m working up to doing all regular pushups during the first circuit. Right not I’m at about half and then I switch to the modification.
- Today’s plan: Swimming on my lunch break. Hiding at my cube for the rest of the day since my hair will most certainly be a disaster. Also planning on doing the Shred again tonight. I think the Shred will be my base workout everyday, and I’m hoping to add more activities on top of that.
I’ve found that fitting in the Shred during my day is much easier than I was making it out to be. Really it is only about 40 minutes to set up, complete, and then put the living room back in order. Plus I really feel the pressure to work out because the only thing worse than failing is failing publicly.
Flippin’ Fit People: Diana, lucklys, steph anne, Cait, Rene (see even my in-laws are joining in! real life pressure!), Elizabeth, Meri, shannon, Kyla, Sensibly Sassy, ashley.star, Alyssa, Lisa, Andrea, Allison, Kourtni, Ali, Amanda, E.P., Michelle Woo, Talia, Sarah Marie P, Je, sara.jane, Lacey Bean, Amber, Lisa, Joy, Trysha, and unofficially so shhhhh… wishcake.
How have your last few days been? Do you have any fun ways to get exercise to share with the rest of us? Let’s get busy supporting each other. If you missed a day, jump right back on the wagon. We won’t tell anyone
Are you ready to hear what the contest winner will get?
whipped soap and other luxurious handmade and vegan goodies from Savor.
I was browsing etsy wondering what in the world it should be. And then I realized, what better way to pamper yourself after working out than to get all sweetly clean and wonderful smelling. As Cale delicately put it:
Oh yeah because after you work out, you smell like fit.
Except he said something that rhymes with fit.
So to the winner will go a bundle of goodies that I will pick out from the Savor etsy shop: whipped soap, bar soap, and body mist. I will most certainly get input from the winner about which scents they prefer.
If you want to join us in our quest for fitness, please do! I’m extending the start date to the 9th, so don’t hesitate, let’s get moving!

OOoh I wanna play! Add my name!
Thanks so much for coming up with this contest and motivating the internets and our little blogging community! YAY!
And thanks for extending the deadline! I started May 7 so I will keep on trucking until June 6!
The prize sounds absolutely lovely! And it’s Vegan! Even better! Love the packaging. SO cute!
Oh, one more thing – Cale is hilarious! heee! “Oh yeah because after you work out, you smell like fit.”
heee.
p.s. Could 30 mins of Laser Tag count as working out? Let’s do it!
Tuesday I didn’t do anything afterall. Suck I know.
Wednesday I cleaned the house, did laundry and hung all our artwork. And I think this should count because I was so exhausted from all of it that I went to bed at 8:30pm.
Thursday I did prenatal exercises like pelvic rocks, squats and stretches. I also did laundry. And I fell asleep on my stomach on the couch because I think I might have sciatica.
Today we are most definitely swimming and I have to clean again because we have guests this weekend.
So that is how it goes for me.
Woke up this morning… totally NOT interested in working out. BUT… I went anyway and I ran for 3 miles!! I feel great that I did it even though I didn’t want to. This “public accountability” thing is rockin’. Oh.. and those soaps look amazing!!! We’ll be in San Diego this weekend for a wedding… so I hope bustin’ a move on the dance floor counts as my workout for tomorrow!!!
congratulations! i wish i had time to partake in this – my current goal is just do some kind of exercise three days a week. and, i think you may have invented a new thing with smelling like “fit”. i’m going to start using that phrase, at least, so hopefully everyone else will too and it will catch on and then i can say i “know” the person who invented saying that.
This sounds like just the motivation I need….Count me in!
Oh NO! I’m out. I skipped a workout today. I was aiming to do one in the evening, but the evening ran on longer than I expected. I was all set to Shred it up at 11:00pm tonight, but alas, I just can’t swing it. I’m tuckered out and need to sleep. I’ll keep on trying for the remaining days though…
I’m so glad you extended the entry date! I started new meds this week and they totally left me exhausted, so I’ve slacked all week until tonight when I did Shred (level 1). I smell pretty bad after I shred. I think even the baby notices. LOL!
Leslie, Haha! I told Cale we should make that a new saying. Big mistake. I think last night alone I was told I smelled like fit like four times. LOL!
Meri, Definitely, just hop on board for the rest of the time. No need to fall off the wagon just after missing one day!
ahh! i start day 11 tomorrow and thus, level 2! nooo just when i was getting used to level 1!
also, i completely agree with you on the anterior raises with the side lunges, i also use 5 pound weights, and yes, they do somehow turn into 50, so i’ve been using one of those big workout balls and holding it with the backs of my hands so i have to press my arms together. it works just as well, but i can still lift my arms rather than weakly and feebly attempting to get them past my waist.
oh gosh, i’m so nervous for tomorrow!
Nice work! Keep it up, lady!
I’ve been walking the dog for about an hour every day. It’s uber hot around these parts, so I’ve been sweating a lot and attempting to keep pace with Lucy’s walk/run. It has been an adventure!
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday = 30 – 40 minutes of walking each day
Friday = 7 hours of yard work.
Saturday = All Day with the horses…. a lot of time walking with the baby horse.
Sunday = Mother’s Day— Oh my, does strolling down town after a show count? YIKES. I will make up for it tomorrow because I have to grade final papers tonight!
Miraculously, I’ve been keeping up! Treadmill, balance ball sit-ups, weights, running in place in the water (don’t ask) and tossing a weighted ball. I’m sore, but feeling motivated! Thanks again for hosting this!
Oh!! The prize looks so good!
This weekend I almost killed myself I worked so I hard, I ran for a full 30 mins (huge for me!!) did yoga and walked for probably 3 hours with the dogs.
…..and then went to bed at 10 pm last night lol
But it’s all in the name of yummy smelly bath stuffs!
