First and foremost, if you didn’t already know….
I have awesome readers. To people who came out of the woodwork: well hello! To the people who said I’m gutsy: Thanks! And too bad it has to be that way. Peace Love and Harmony (Was I the only one who doodled that all over my binders during elementary school?). To anyone who ever feels alone: Blog about it! Because I felt super alone, and BAM! There are a lot of you heathens out there with me.
I’d like to continue my fitness posts by saying that I’ve never faltered, but unfortunately I can’t. Last Friday I was super pissed off, and instead of dealing with it in a constructive manner, I chose to vent to my mother (thank you for letting me do that mommy!) and then go to Applebee’s with my husband and indulge in a Raspberry Long Island Iced Tea and an Oriental Chicken Salad, with a veggie patty instead of chicken (still very good and highly recommended). We had the best waitress there. Seriously she brightened my day, and I left her the best tip along with a little note of thanks.
Then I spent the rest of the weekend gardening, which totally counts. And I could have gotten back on my feet and not let that Friday throw me off course, but then my week threw me curveball after curveball, like a women accountants’ wine gala, some last minute urgent client work, and several late nights.
But by the sounds of the comments I’ve gotten, I’m not alone. And here is my plan: I am going to get back on track. I’m not going to let a wayward week throw me off for the rest of the month. So anyone who has fallen short: let’s get back to it! Map out your upcoming week. Plan a workout each day and let’s get back into shape. Right after I post this blog I have a new Jillian Michaels workout I am going to try in my netflix instant queue. Then this weekend Cale and I are flying to Vegas for our own anni-VEGAS-ry an-NEVADA-versary! a la Chandler and Monica. Don’t think that I won’t be hitting up Monte Carlo’s fitness room. And none of that is motivated by the steam room and sauna. Nope. Not one bit….
Flippin’ Fit People: Diana, lucklys, steph anne, Cait, Rene’, Elizabeth, Meri, shannon, Kyla, Sensibly Sassy, ashley.star, Alyssa, Lisa, Andrea, Allison, Kourtni, Ali, Amanda, E.P., Michelle Woo, Talia, Sarah Marie P, Je, sara.jane, Lacey Bean, Amber, Lisa, Joy, Trysha, calisara, and unofficially so shhhhh… wishcake.
What are your workout plans for this week? Accountability baby. And scolding me for screwing up this week is totally allowed. I admit it, I failed you all. I phoned it in. Now give it to me, Jillian-style.

OK, finals are over and I am back at the stables. I had a hard time during finals, sitting on a hiring committee for a few days and now I have time for me.
I was out at the stables today from 9 – 2. I got 3 horses off the hill (a really big hill), played with Astro for about an hour, fed horses, had the trimmer out, had the vet out and put all 3 horses back on the hill. I walked and walked and walked. I plan on keeping this up for the rest of the summer. Wish me luck!
Now I am on my way out to the garden.
I haven’t been getting in a workout every day…but I’ve at least been getting one in more days than not. This past week I decided to start training for a 10K to get myself motivated and it seems to be working. I’ve gone for a run twice this week (and walked another) and plan to go again tomorrow. For next week I plan on doing 3 runs and then will hopefully squeeze Jillian or a walk in on the off days.
I love that you wrote a note to your waitress, good service really makes a difference!
Oh…..well……see…..I didn’t do anything this week either. It was chaulk full of just crazy crap and I didn’t get to the gym at all–not even for my fun latin class. Big ol’ bummer. This weekend David and I are doing a lot of packing, moving and cleaning in my old apartment so I can be rid of the place. So tired of doing this almost every weekend. The weekends seem to just bite.
As for you, I can’t be hard on you Jillian style—-I was just as bad!! But for the two of us, WHIP THOSE ASSES IN GEAR LADIES! : D
Have a great weekend!
you’re not the only one… i have not been doing a good job either lately. however i’m bound to kick ass soon since my health-freak friend is living with us for the summer. so basically she’s my mini-jillian!
have an awesome time in las vegas!!!
Oh dang, I missed three days in a row this past week! And another day besides that! And besides that I’ve been sorta phoning it in with 30 min walks instead of workout videos/jogging. Eeek! Bad! So, good call having us plan the workouts ahead of time. Right now I’m going to do The Shred. And then my goal for the last five days of the challenge is to make sure I either do The Shred or Taebo or hit the gym for some jogging on the treadmill. Ok, fine, maybe one night walk– but it will include lots of jogging/running up in there! And it’s just because I gotta appreciate these cool Fresno nights before it’s 95 degrees at 10 p.m.
To paraphrase Jillian — you don’t give up when you’re nearing the end of a race. You give it your all. You finish strong. “I want you flying off the ground” with the jumprope! YOU STRONG!!!! (haha, I swear she says YOU STRONG although she might really be saying “you’re strong.” John and I always quote it. heeee)
LETS DO THIS! And I swear I’m gonna blog tonight. What the heck. Why haven’t I blogged the challenge yet?! BAD BLOGGER!
I haven’t been doing too well recently with exercise, either. Since Lucy and I went home over the weekend, she worked out a lot in the yard while I ran around town (in a car) trying to get everything ready and together for my friend’s wedding. C’est la vie, right?
Less than four days ’til Vegas, though!
i’m really happy that you made anniversary into two totally different words with states in them. really happy, haha
SO, I was gone 3 weeks.
BUT! I ran while on vacation.
I am awesome.
