Oh hello there readers. It’s only been a whole month without hearing from me. I hope this makes up for it! Now what in the world have I been up to? Well let’s start with a lot of working late, add in a week of bronchitis, and throw in a bathroom painting project just for fun. I’m lucky my husband hasn’t given up and left me for someone else who isn’t insane.
I think he’s forgiven me because the bathroom before was quite a dungeon. And now? Now it’s so pretty! Really. I think I want to live in it.
See for yourself!
Before. Let’s see.. ugly wood paneling, ancient rusty mirror threatening to fall and kill someone, 80′s shelf thing. Just not pretty.
Step One. Buy new HUGE mirror. Check out that price tag. Big Lots for $30! It was amazing. I almost cried. Okay not really. But deal of the century? Yes I believe so.
The next room for painting is our living room. We have the routine down, so it should be pretty quick. If only I could stop being such an insane perfectionist. Really I think that doubles the amount of time it takes for us to paint. What room in your house are you itching to paint?

The final result looks amazing! I love the colors you chose, it’s very relaxing instead of all white (or ugly wood panels). I especially love how you added things like the flower, because it really gave it more character. I wish I could make over the bathroom here. We have all these white tiles on half of wall and it’s just.. white. Unfortunately we’re stuck with a lease.
Amazing job y’all!
Thanks so much! Yeah we’re renting, but the landlords said it’s a-okay to paint (because well.. could it get any worse?! haha!). Thank goodness because I don’t think I could have handled that bathroom for long!
Oh and the pups (and cat)? So cute!
I’m at work, with our crazy web filter, so I can’t see the finished bathroom
I’ll have to check it out later.
I’m dying to paint our living room. The color itself isn’t bad, it’s a lovely taupe color, but so is our couch. I’ve put up with it for 2 years and now I’m dying to paint it something light and airy.
Look at you guys!! Woah!! =D
I’m dying to paint our living room but since we’re probably moving we’re holding off- it’s pretty on a Saturday afternoon, so that’s what counts for now.
I cannot believe how much better it looks!! Wow, well done!
Wow, it turned out great! It’s so clean and bright
It’s so nice to prettify rooms. The end result is always worth the hours of labor!
Tell Cale I like his painting outfit
(Chris would’ve forced me to take that off my blog btw).
It looks SO SO SO good!!! Can you believe what a little paint will do??? I love that blue color
Can’t wait to see it IN REAL LIFE! hinthintwinkwink.
“we’re getting shit done!” or whatever you said made me lawl. So funny!
I love the makeover! The color is fantastic and it looks so cheerful in there with the flowers and cute curtain! I think you need that vanity now. I see what you’re talking about… it would be PERFECT in that spot!
Wow, what a huge change! It looks fantastic! Way to go!
Turned out great. You guys did awesome!!! Love the pops of color with the shower curtain and flowers. Perfect. Love ya!
WOW!! It looks amazing! I love the colors you chose, it’s totally cool and relaxing in there now, I love it!
You are so brave painting the wood paneling! Were there any special tips or tricks to doing it or did you just go for it? We used to live in a house that almost EVERY SINGLE WALL was wood paneling, it was so damn depressing. But our landlord (my freaking father in law) would NOT let us paint!!! ridic right? I had much hate in my heart b/c of that. And then we moved out lol!
I am sooo itchin to paint my kitchen and living room here!!!
oh! and the flower you chose?? GORGEOUS!!!!!! Seriously, when I saw it I said “Ooo!!” haha! I think I need one
Your bathroom is GORGEOUS. I kind of want to to live there. Great job, you two!
It’s great to see you back! You have done a fabulous job on the bathroom! I don’t think my landlady would like it too much if we painted. Ah well.
so beautiful! are you guys looking to start up a side occupation? because I would totally hire you!
I think I’ll come visit and enjoy the bathroom
Hope things settle down for you soon & that the bronchitis is gone… I’m recovering from it as well. It’s definitely not fun.
Oh man.. you had me at home improvement. Looks beautiful!
I want to paint my kitchen and guest bath SO badly. I can’t stand it. They’ve been white for almost 6 years!!! It is well past time! My paintings can only add so much. I need warmth!
Bathroom looks great by the way! ^_^
I love it!!! It’s a bright & cheery place…which is just what every bathroom needs. Happy thoughts + a good release.
By the way I love the flowers you got in the bathroom. Are they real or fake?
Thanks! And yep they were real, I usually pick up flowers anytime I grocery shop. It’s my own personal reward for doing it. Haha! Too bad now they’re dead.. but they were pretty!
oh my gosh you guys did a fantastic job and seriously its amazing what some paint can do. I wish more landlords would allow that, it would really help make renters happier. Can’t wait to see the living room.
ok, so I’m waaaaaay behing in commenting (it’s awful), but when I first read this post I was BLOWN away. Seriously, Steph, your bathroom looks AMAZING!!! beautiful!! Being a painter and project-doer myself, I looked at the way it was before and the way you made it look afterwards and I can completely appreciate ALL the hard work and time that went into it. Wow, what a project. All I can say is GOOD JOB
Have you been doing the thing where you go look at it over and over again and just stand there taking it all in?? I do that whenever I’ve finished a big project and just fall in love with it. hehe. I think you would be quite justified in doing so.
THAT LOOKS SO AMAZING.
I had to paint panel once (shoot me!)!
Go Corwins Go! It’s not just a little paint — this looks amazing! The end result is so impressive! What a difference that paint made! I love the color you chose. It’s so relaxing. And the shower curtain is so cute! (And the flowers too!) Whoa exclamations!!!!! I also really like your candles & soap dispenser & other little knickknacks. Very, very cute, you guys!
I don’t know how I didn’t see this sooner, but holy AMAZINGNESS!
Steph, that looks SO GOOD. You did such a fabulous job pulling it all together!!
I’m so impressed.
Down with wood paneling! Boo!
