What is a date with Cale or Stephanie like?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Last night Cale and I went out to grab some sushi. I’ve had a long week: I had a paper due and a presentation to make in my class, evaluations were due at work, and Friday my blog basically blew up. Seriously, there were so many things going on, the last thing I felt like doing was cooking. So we went out. And it was a great time. So much fun, I thought I’d share that good time with all of you!

So yes, I did spend some time this morning to fix myself a new layout on this blog. I know there will be a few more things I need to tinker with, but overall, I’m pleased. Also, this is my first time adding captions in my videos for my beloved blogger friends that are deaf, and I must say it made it much more fun! I hope you all enjoy!

A Simple Keyword Search

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

There are certain things in life that are certain to bring a smile.. and one of those? Google analytics and finding out what interesting google searches have brought people to this ol’ blog. Sometimes when I type things into google, I wonder.. hmm if this person ever checks their analytics, I wonder what they’ll think of that. Really, it’s pretty dull most of the time, but every once and a while you’ll get a funny little surprise. So I’ve picked out my favorites, just for your entertainment.

  • how many bears yosemite
    NONE!
  • “i talked to my mom about when i walked in on them and now they are still doing it when im awake”
I have NO IDEA how that led you here, but that is MEAN!
  • kara’s cupcakes caramel filling recipe
If you find it, let me know! Or you could just make me some and I’d be glad to taste test
  • my house is dirty because cleaning grosses me out
I don’t have that problem.. in fact I’m a little obsessive about cleaning
  • painful to wait for the cpa score
    Why yes, yes it is.
  • quinoa is birdseed?
Nope definitely not. It’s very yummy though!
  • smell of cat pee on treadmill
Knowing our cat, I’m now terrified of this.
  • “her huge tongue”
    no comment.
  • cousin caught garter and bouquet
Well I’m guessing that they probably won’t be getting married next..
  • elizabeth ann blowie
If this is someone’s name, I feel so sorry for them.

What are some of the favorite keyword searches you’ve had come through your blog recently?

I believe the word is… w00t

thanks google for my quick “happy dance gif” find

As you probably noticed yesterday when my feedburner feed spat out 10 new posts to your feed reader, Those Corwins’s feed is back up and running. Thank goodness. I still have no clue what was wrong, but it’s in the past. I’m just so glad it’s working and I didn’t have to try and switch hosting or anything like that.

And if you didn’t notice a difference.. then Hey what’s up.

Today yesterday I guest-posted over at Miss Sensibly Sassy’s place. Why don’t you head on over and leave some comments discussing your Hawaiian adventures, be they real or imaginary.

EDIT: Feedburner now hates me again, so I’m just abandoning it. Please subscribe at http://thosecorwins.com/feed/. Thanks!

Pale Ale and Ritz Chips

Monday, April 27th, 2009

It’s just another Monday night. Cale is out at his LSAT review course in Berkeley until eleven tonight, and I am living it up. I’ve got a “chick’n” patty in the oven, a Mighty Arrow Pale Ale on my desk, and a bag of Ritz Chips with my name on it. Of course Friends in on the TV. It’s so nice to be home early enough to catch the Friends reruns on TV. For a Monday, it’s been fairly delightful. It’s nice and windy outside, which is the perfect time for cuddling under a blanket and reflecting.

My life has been pretty crazy as of late, but this weekend I had plenty of time to relax. This was done by re-watching multiple episodes of Weeds, watching French Kiss, and hanging out with the hubby. This is my favorite way to spend a weekend. In a state of hibernation during the majority of it, so that Sunday night you say No! Where did it all go?, but that next Monday morning is when I feel the most refreshed.

But to assure myself that the weekend did not go completely to waste, there were a few triumphs:

I ordered some spice racks from The Container Store. You would have thought there was gold inside that UPS package by the way I ripped it open with glee. I’m so glad to finally be able to utilize our ironing board cabinet for storage. In our tiny little house, no space can go to waste.

I trimmed my own bangs, and oh thank goodness they turned out well. Skydiving? No thanks I trimmed my bangs this weekend. I’ve had my adrenaline high for the year. By the way, if you’re looking at this picture thinking that I totally messed them up, it’s the end of the day, they’re not uneven, just tired.

We went to the grocery store. Which you can always tell because I come home with flowers of some form. It’s my way of rewarding myself for going. Because if I could, I think I could live off of macaroni and cheese for a year if it meant I could avoid going to the store.

That was pretty much my weekend. You can throw some intermittent “I’m so excited for Vegas!” exclamations here and there, and you get the picture. Today Southwest airlines made me very very happy by putting all flights to and from the Bay Area on sale for 50% off. Not only did I book my flight to Vegas for June, but Cale and I decided to utilize the discount as well by moving our anniversary trip up a few weeks. Now I will be heading to Vegas for two weekends in a row. The first to celebrate with my husband by seeing The Beatles Cirque show “Love” and enjoying ourselves. The second weekend to meet up with some lovely bloggers. Look at me! The jet-setter. This is a big deal for me because normally on airplanes you would see me holding back tears during take-off. The flights I’ve taken for national trainings through my work have really broken me in though. I’m almost a pro!

Well I’m off to finish watching Friends and to try to psych myself for a little Jillian Michaels paired with yoga. Have you been shredding? I have a few times and even made it to the gym for a run! Got some motivation to share?
