Okay they’re pretty cute

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

The other morning I was getting ready for work when I realized it was abnormally quiet in our house. The dogs had been fed and were outside, but where was the cat? I turn around to grab my makeup bag out of our linen closet, and oh there he was, just taking a nap on the scale. He didn’t get out until I started blow-drying my hair. I thought it was pretty cute.

Then there was the day when we gave the dog their bones, and Maisie was doing a lot more growling than normal. She usually does this play growl that we all get a laugh out of, so she does it fairly regularly for the extra attention. Of course I was only able to catch a little bit of it on camera. Basically the whole video was a mess, but it cracks me up because yet again I fail at videotaping. Oh yes and Brodie is licking his bone instead of eating it. Which is just weird.

Note: In human world, I got my camera, but am too lazy to edit pictures besides the two I’ve uploaded to my flickr, so that’s all you get for now until I can give it a proper post of its own. It’s unfortunate that the new lappy is not arriving until Friday because this one is being stubborn and making uploading pictures harder than it should be. Which just proves that it’s a good thing we’re replacing it. (Hear that computer.. prove me wrong… act really nice for the rest of the week and maybe we’ll keep you around for more than just acting as a “slave” or whatever Cale has in store for you….)

Warm and Fuzzy Sunday

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Growing up I used to say that Fridays were my favorite day of the week. But now I think I would have to change that day to Sunday. Sundays are so lazy and cozy. They’re known for yummy breakfasts, and in our house, ending the evening refreshed in a clean house. Throughout the week as things build up on our home’s surfaces, my mind gets cluttered as well. But Sunday, as the mail gets filed, the laundry gets cleaned, and the carpets vacuumed, I feel renewed and ready for the week to come.

This morning I made myself a veggie egg breakfast burrito, but last weekend I made these yummy waffles. My Grandma Pat (Hi Grandma!) gave us this waffle maker years ago, but wow! It is idiot-proof, which is important to me in the kitchen. It tells you when the waffles are ready even! And even someone like me, whose cooking skills leave much to be desired, can make perfect looking waffles. The waffle above is made from the recipe on the Bisquick box, but I added in cinnamon and some chopped pecans. Topped with maple syrup, this was a delicious and filling breakfast.

So there is the warm… How about some fuzzy…

Um Mind if I wash my hands?

How was your Sunday?

Sleepy Neo

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

And Neo. He sleeps all day, often in the oddest of positions. He sleeps on the sofa, on the floor, on the sink, under the bed. Upside down, right side up, and on his side.

At night he tries to cuddle up on my side. Completely locking me into position with no where to move. Or I wake up to find him sleeping on my head. Or chest.

Right now he’s sleeping on the floor by my feet. On his side.

Study time

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

How do you get through watching a total of 32 hours of lectures about exciting things like governmental accounting, capital leases, and bond valuation and the even more hours of multiple choice practice questions?

A comfy study spot, lots of Jelly Bellies, and some Friends to keep you company

A witty hubby to break up the boring study time. You can let him steal some Jelly Bellies if you want.

A fluffy puppy to cuddle with you when you need a break.

And a big silly dog to remind you to relax every once and a while

I am now officially halfway through my CPA exams. I finally got my results back for my second test and I passed. Now I have FAR and Regulation left. If those sound exciting to you, you are a little crazy. Though I must say I am so glad I chose Roger Philipp as my review course. This guy is hilarious. Sometimes I catch myself giggling out loud at my cubicle. I swear I’m studying people! It makes watching the lectures go by much easier. I have a busy weekend ahead of me. But I took PTO on Tuesday, so I have four full days to get ready for my test on Wednesday. As long as I pass that I will be gearing up for my very last section on July 2nd. I cannot wait for that day! The pressure of studying will be off my shoulders and I can truly enjoy my days. Ah. I can taste it now. So excuse me as this should be my last post until after Wednesday. I say should because I tend to get distracted while studying, but I am going to try to keep my eye on the prize. See you on the flipside folks.

*cough*nerd.
